Welcome to our care training page. Here we hope to highlight and demonstrate the type of care training our carers undergo here at Homecare UK.
The way we train and develop our carers in very important to us and we go to great lengths to ensure our training is always to the highest of quality, is relevant and periodically reviewed and updated to meet the need of our carers and their service users.
Initial induction training
Every new member carer that joins us whether they are an hourly or live in carer completes an initial induction training program.
This is a mixture of both pratical and class room theory training.
Our training program consists of but is not limited to:
- Risk Assessment.
- Health and safety.
- Fire training.
- Infection control.
- Food hygiene.
- Nutrition and diet.
- Medication administration.
- Adult abuse training.
- CoSHH (Control of substances hazardous to health).
- Hand Hygiene.
- Person centred care.
- Communication & record keeping.
- Moving & handling (pratical and theory).
NVQ’s and City & Guides Qualifications

All of our carers have or they are working towards NVQ level 2 or level 3 qualifications in care. Our NVQ’s are carried out and assessed in parthership with Macclesfield College.
We encourage all of our carers to persue further development and training to enhance their skills and further their education.
NVQ’s are a mixure of pratical assessments and evidence based work programs.
Periodic & training updates
It is important to ensure that any training is kept upto date and relevant. This is why all our training is regularly reviewed to ensure that refresher training is given when required and that all our training pratices remain upto date with industry best pratices and guidelines.
