Being a live-in carer or PA (Personal Assistant) is both a financially and emotionally rewarding and fulfilling experience. Within your role and with our ongoing support you will provide help and assistance to a wide range of individuals and families within their home and local community.
With our help you will help them to maintain a healthly, independent and happy lifestyle.
Job description
No two carer roles are the same, however the type of care and help you provide may cover areas such as the following:
Providing personal care
As part of your role you may be required to provide personal care to those you are there to care for. This may involve helping your client to get dressed in the mornings and to bed in the evenings. Also providing help with washing and bathing and other personal matters.
Assisting with mobility
You will be required to assist your service user with any mobility issues such as moving and handling, wheelchair use, and hoisting when required.
Assisting with medications & prescriptions
You may be required to help and assist with prescribed medications and helping to collect prescriptions. You may also be required to help with any hospital or GP appointments when neccessary.
Companionship and friendship
You will be required to support your clients throughout their day to day activities. This may involve accompanying them on social occassions to visit friends and family or visits to the shops and local attractions.
Support at home and within the community
Your role as a live-in carer or PA is varied which means your role will never be the same from each day to the next. You’ll be required to provide support at home as well as within the community.
Complying with Homecare UK policies and procedures
Throughout you placement and employment you will be required to comply and adhere to all the companies policies and procedures.

Being a Personal Assistant (PA’s)
As a Homecare UK PA you’ll generally be helping to look after younger adults who have mobility problems or who has suffered a spinal injury that makes it difficult for them to go about there regular activities and routines.
As a Personal Assistant it will be your role to provide the type of help and assistant your clients needs to lead an active and fulfilling lifestyle.
